چکیده

Previously the first author has shown how to construct vertexmagic total labelings (VMTLs) for large families of regular graphs. The construction proceeds by successively adding arbitrary 2-factors to a regular graph of order n which possesses a strong VMTL, to produce a regular graph of the same order but larger size. In this paper, we exploit this construction method. We are able to show that for any r ≥ 4, every r-regular graph of odd order n ≤ 17 has a strong VMTL. We show how to produce strong labelings for some families of 2-regular graphs since these are used as the starting points of our construction. While even-order regular graphs are much harder to deal with, we introduce ’mirror’ labelings which provide a suitable starting point from which the construction can proceed. We are able to show that several large classes of r-regular graphs of even order (including some Hamiltonian graphs) have VMTLs.

Balanced Degree-Magic Labelings of Complete Bipartite Graphs under Binary Operations

A graph is called supermagic if there is a labeling of edges where the edges are labeled with consecutive distinct positive integers such that the sum of the labels of all edges incident with any vertex is constant. A graph G is called degree-magic if there is a labeling of the edges by integers 1, 2, ..., |E(G)| such that the sum of the labels of the edges incident with any vertex v is equal t...

Magic labelings of regular graphs

Let G(V,E) be a graph and λ be a bijection from the set V ∪E to the set of the first |V |+ |E| natural numbers. The weight of a vertex is the sum of its label and the labels of all adjacent edges. We say λ is a vertex magic total (VMT) labeling of G if the weight of each vertex is constant. We say λ is an (s, d) -vertex antimagic total (VAT) labeling if the vertex weights form an arithmetic pro...

Distance magic labelings of graphs

As a natural extension of previously defined graph labelings, we introduce in this paper a new magic labeling whose evaluation is based on the neighbourhood of a vertex. We define a 1-vertex-magic vertex labeling of a graph with v vertices as a bijection f taking the vertices to the integers 1, 2, . . . , v with the property that there is a constant k such that at any vertex x, ∑ y∈N(x) f(y) = ...

Vertex-magic labeling of non-regular graphs

In this paper, we are studying vertex-magic total labelings (VMTLs) of simple graphs. By now much is known about methods for constructing VMTLs for regular graphs. Here we are studying non-regular graphs. We show how to construct labelings for several families of non-regular graphs, including graphs formed as the disjoint union of two other graphs already possessing VMTLs. We focus on condition...

All regular graphs of small odd order are vertex-magic

This paper deals with vertex-magic total labellings of graphs. Earlier work by many authors has shown many infinite families of graphs to admit such labelings. The fact that many of these graphs are regular led MacDougall to conjecture that all non-trivial regular graphs are vertexmagic. Previously Gray and MacDougall showed that all odd-order rregular graphs (r ≥ 2) of order up to v = 19 are v...

Distance magic labelings of a union of graphs

A 1-vertex-magic vertex labeling of a graph G(V,E) with p vertices is a bijection f from the vertex set V (G) to the integers 1, 2, . . . , p with the property that there is a constant k such that at any vertex x the sum ∑ f(x) taken over all neighbors of x is k. In this paper, we study the 1-vertex-magic vertex labelings of two families of disconnected graphs, namely a disjoint union of m copi...
